Emma S. (Brown) Birkett Crum was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Knight) Brown. She married first Matthew Birkett, the son of John and Nancy (Wilkinson) Birkett and he preceded her in death on December 16, 1887. She married second William Anthony Crum, the son of James Madison and Lois (Preston) Crum, on October 15, 1866 in Wabash County, Illinois and he preceded her in death on May 5, 1916.
