A funeral service for Mrs. Milly Kyle, 76, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keefe Cropper and Rev. Leah Hanks officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Kyle passed away on Thursday morning, Jan. 23, 2014, in Carthage.

Mildred Evelyn Williamson Kyle was born on March 15, 1937, in Beaumont, TX to the late Carmen Alan and Edna Joe Andrews Williamson. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1955. Mrs. Kyle attended North Texas State University where she earned her B.A. in Speech Pathology in 1958 and later earned her Master's in Early Childhood Education from UT Tyler. She married James Wayne Kyle on July 12, 1958 at the First United Methodist Church in Carthage. Mrs. Kyle taught at Carthage ISD where she initiated the speech therapy program. She was a former member of the Carthage Book Club, the Carthage Service League, and helped start the St. John's Episcopal Day School. Mrs. Kyle was a former member of the American and Texas Speech and Hearing Associations. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carthage where she sang in the choir. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kyle was also preceded in death by her beloved sister, Eloise Newhard.

Mrs. Kyle is survived by her husband, Dr. Wayne Kyle of Carthage; one son, Riley Wayne Kyle and wife Stacey of Kansas City; two daughters, Kelly Elizabeth Coker and husband Cheney of Carrollton and Julie Kathryn "Kit" Martin and husband Michael of Coppell; one brother, Donald Alan Williamson and wife Barbara of Henderson, NV; three sisters, Elaine Dodgen of Richardson, Carmen Aline Thomas and husband Bob of Marietta, GA, and Elizabeth Ann Turner and husband Ronald of Katy; brother-in-law, Jack Newhard of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Richard Lynn Moore, Mathew Higgs, Jack Dodgen, Michael Meeks, Kit Brooks Kyle, and Michael Brandt.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Martha Anderson, Marcia Poss, Rita Gipson, Merle Nerren, Sandra Bains, Sue Donohoe, Vicki Jones, and Sharon Ivy.
