Stanley Gene Watson, age 67, of Vonore, passed away 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at Blount Memorial Hospital. A member and deacon of Howard's Chapel Baptist Church, he retired after 43 years with U.S. Food Service.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, survivors include wife, Barbara Jean Ollis Watson; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Jay Miles, Tamara and Chris Schram, Becky and Gary Presley, all of Vonore; grandchildren and spouses, Adrian and Shea Miles, Caleb Miles, Dillon and Sarah Presley, Hayley Miles, Jada Presley; great-grandchildren, Destiny Miles, Blake Campbell, Easton Presley, Jaden and Aryssa Schrader; sisters and brothers-in-law, Katherine Summey, Margie Gray, Mary and Roger Cox, Wanda and Winford Loveday, all of Vonore; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lum and Beulah Watson, Roy and Carol Watson, all of Maryville, Fred and June Watson, Vonore; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Stanley H. and Molly Watson; sister, Sue Giles; brother, Stanley Watson, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Lee Roy Baker, Bobby Gray and John Summey.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Howard's Chapel Baptist Church, Rev. Barney Tipton, Rev. Ralph Patton and Rev. Mike Blair officiating. Interment church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Howard's Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
