Louis Gassion was a circus performer and married Annette Maillard. On December 19, 1915, they had a child Edith Giovanna Gassion, later known as Edith Piaf, the famous French singer. In 1922 Louis left the circus to become a street performer, where daughter Edith sang alongside him. Father and daughter are buried at the same plot.
