Velma F. Moore , age 79 of Gibson City, Illinois, died at 7:02 a.m. on 08/24/1990 at Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City. Her Funeral was held on Sunday, 2:30 p.m. at the Lamb Funeral Home, with the Reverends Eugene James & Laurence Sunkel officiating. Burial was at the Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City. Pallbearers were Bruce Summers, Gary Davis, Rodney Mott, Harold Medler, Jim Gambill & Paul Moore. Visitation was held from 5 until 8p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
She was born on 04/23/1911 in Wayne County, a daughter of Silas & Bertha (Shreve) Talbert. She married John Leslie Wolfe on 08/30/1929 in Mt. Vernon. He died January 24, 1944. She married Charles W. Moore on 06/01/1958 in Decatur and he survives.
Other survivors include one son, Donald H. Wolfe of Winston-Salem NC, one daughter, Mona (Wolfe)Summers of Gibson City and one step-daughter, Beverly (Moore) Veach of Vienna, six grandchildren, two brothers, Lawrence Talbert of Lincoln & Wesley Talbert of Wayne City, four sisters, Ruby Woolever & Opal Johnson, both of Wayne City, Eva Woolever of Cisne and Nola Griffith of Matton.
Mrs. Moore had been a resident of Gibson City since May of 1989, She had lived in Decatur for 34 years prior to that time. She was a member of the Wayne City Baptist Church and a former member of the Eastern Star. Memorials may be made to the Gibson Community Hospital.
