Eunice was the daughter of Samuel Withrow and Mary Graft. She married William Royal in Butler County, Ohio. She and William came to the Dayton area about 1849. She died at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, William H. and Julia Alice (Royal) Frantz, south of Dayton. William and Eunice Royal had 11 children: Anna Priscilla, Catherine Jane "Jenny," Mary Josephine "Josie," Elizabeth Frances "Fan," Samuel Thomas, James A, Ellen Alvaretta "Ella," Julia Alice, Clara Candice "Pet," William Stanley "Will," and Charles Edgar "Ed."
