Ms. Queenie Golden Anderson, 91, departed this life on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at her residence in Hinesville.
The eldest of 10 children, Mrs. Anderson was born Oct. 7, 1922 in Willie to the late Jessie Golden and Alice McBride Golden. She attended the historic Dorchester Academy of Midway.
On June 28, 1941, she was married to Randolph Anderson. He preceded her in death. She was a retired custodial worker with the Billeting Office, Housing Division at Fort Stewart.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Hinesville.
She is survived by her two children, Laverne (Charlie) Moore and Kathyrn (Leonard) Eldridge, all of Hinesville; three brothers, William Golden of Glennville, Leon Golden and Lewis (Mildred) Golden, all of Elizabeth, N.J.; three sisters, Weder Collins and Gladys Thaniels, both of Elizabeth, and Sannie Toombs of Kansas City, Mo,; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Her viewing will be from 1-5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, at Dorchester Funeral Home in Midway.
Her funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Good Shepherd Missionary Baptist Church, 4424 W. Oglethorpe Highway in Allenhurst. Her body will be placed in the church at 9:30 a.m. The Eulogist will be the Rev. Dr. Alvin Jackson.
Interment will be in St Luke Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Hinesville.
Dorchester Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. .
