Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Tuesday, September 16, 1969, page 3:
  Albert M. Cerny, 53, of Glen Crossing, Route 4, Edwardsville died this morning at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville. He had been a patient six weeks.
  Mr. Cerny had been a laborer in general construction for 27 years. He was a resident of the Glen Carbon area 48 years.
  Born Feb. 24, 1916, in Vojtešice, Czechoslovakia he was a son of the late Albert M. Cerny, Sr. and Marie Cerny, who lives on Route 4.
  He was married to Hedwig Kochanski of Glen Crossing, June 3, 1939, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Edwardsville.
  Surviving in addition to his wife and mother, are three sons, William, Joseph, and James, all of the home, seven daughters, Mrs. George (Mary Ann) Ramatowski of Collinsville, Mrs. Leonard (Patricia) Menoni of Edwardsville, Mrs. Michael (Rita) Sterling of St. Louis, Mrs. Michael (Rose) Wahl of Edwardsville, and Kathleen, Monica and Bridget Jean, all of the home.
  Four grandchildren, two brothers, Frank Cerny of Route 4, and Tony Cerny of Meadowbrook, and two sisters, Mary Cerny of Edwardsville and Mrs. Marshall (Anna) Evans of Route 4 [also survive].
  Mr. Cerny was a member of Laborers Local No. 474 Glen Carbon and of St. Cecelia's Catholic Church in Glen Carbon.
  Friends may call at Lesley Marks Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
  Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Cecelia's Church, with the Rev. George E. Hobbs officiating. Burial will be in Buck Road Cemetery, Collinsville Township.
  Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Peter Perry, Stanley Haluck, George Ramatowski, Leonard Menoni, Michael Sterling and Michael Wahl.
