Aaron Clyde Altizer, 98, of Floyd County, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 19, 2014. Aaron was born December 7, 1915 to Clyde C. and Mary Dishon Altizer. Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters Hattie Reed and Callie Heslep; a son-in-law, Richard Bishop; and granddaughter, Rebekah.

After accepting the Lord in September 1949, Aaron has been a devoted member of the White Rock Church of the Brethren where he served as Deacon since 1951 and Trustee of the Church and Cemetery since 1962.

Aaron was a lifelong farmer and loved the Lord, his family, and neighbors. He was a humble and respectful gentleman and would often stop what he was doing to help others.

The family will receive friends at Maberry Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday January 21, 2014 and for one -half hour prior to the 11 a.m. services on Wednesday January 22, 2014 at the White Rock Church of the Brethren. A celebration of Aaron's life will follow with Rev. Michael Pugh and Rev. David Trail officiating. Burial will follow in the White Rock Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the White Rock Church of the Brethren Building Fund, c/o Gina W. Straub, Treas., 3058 Mud Pike Road, Christiansburg, VA 24073 or the Carilion Clinic Hospice c/o Tracy Stewart, Mgr., 701 Randolph Street, Suite 110 Radford, VA 24141.
