Son of Christie and Clara Breadon Doonan.
He attended Preemption schools and
Married: Charlotte R. Moseley McManus on her birthday November 25, 1941.
They would have celebrated their 64th anniversary this year.

Marion always felt good about having constructed the shoulder of Highway 67 (in his earlier years) with his trusty team of horses. In the mid 1930's he got busier yet hauling livestock to the Chicago Stock Yards. For years he was a successful Livestock Buyer and Trader.In 1950 he started up a new business in Preemption, 'The Doonan Implement Company.' which was still in operation at the time of his death. He enjoyed going in to work every day, and at 95 wouldn't even let the bad weather stop him from opening up those doors for business; and had made every customer, a friend.

Marion was also the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Buffalo Prarie State Bank. He was a lifetime member Of St John's Episcopal Church in Preemption. Over the year's he'd also served on a good number of church committees and in 1987 he was appointed honorary Vestryman.

Marion loved traveling, fishing and trading.

Marion and Charlotte had two children:

Bette Doonan Lambin and Gary McManus both of preemption.

He is survived by his wife Charlotte, his two children, 3 grandchildren, 5 grandchildren, and a number of neices and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both his parents and a brother, Emery.
