Update a/o August 7, 2014 -

The exact burial location for Sarah is somewhat uncertain - it may be in Lecky cemetery but without a headstone, or it may be in Fell cemetery in Jefferson county, Iowa, where her parents, husband Jonathan H. Parsons, and three young children are buried.

Because Sarah died in 1878 there are no Iowa/Jefferson county death records (those did not start to be recorded until 1880 in Iowa)listing where she was to be buried, nor has an obituary been found for her in Fairfield (Jefferson county, Iowa) area newspapers on microfilm.

Although there is an inscription for Sarah on the Parson's family monument in Fell cemetery, it is joint with Jonathan's first wife Caroline. That it is a memorial inscription only in Fell cemetery cannot be ruled out.

Although management of this memorial was graciously transferred by Dona on August 7, 2014, this memorial will remain in Lecky cemetery pending any clarification/documentation proving otherwise.

So not to confuse people, the inscription photo shown on this memorial is of the joint inscription found in Fell cemetery (photo by Richard K. Thompson). That there is no headstone or inscription for Sarah in Lecky cemetery is duly noted.
