Della Ann Working was born on a farm near Peru, IN, the fifth of 15 children of John and Amanda Hochstetler Working. She finished her schooling locally and then attended dressmaking school in Peru.
Della came to York, NE in 1911 and conducted dressmaking classes. She became involved in the church and civic community work.
Della married Charles Francis Stroman on July 13, 1929 in York, NE. Charles had his own law firm, was the County Attorney for a term and frequently served as an Assistant County Judge. He died in 1948.
Della never remarried but kept herself busy being active in the United Methodist Church in York and the Women's Christian Temperance Union.
