Charles E. LeMasters, 65, of Hartsville, passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus. He was born on October 31, 1948 in Greensburg, the son of Charles Louis and Letha Mae (Warren) LeMasters and he was raised by Floyd and Minnie Romine. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur and Bartholomew Counties. He was a truck driver having worked for Grammer Industries, L. B. Trucking, Chet Ogle Trucking and many others. He enjoyed restoring cars, go cart racing and had worked at the Indy Motor Speedway for 25 years.
He married Mildred P. Mozingo in Greensburg on June 16, 1967 and she survives. Other survivors include his mother, Letha Mae LeMasters of Greensburg; his daughter, Julie (Rob) Clidinst of Columbus; his son, Bruce (Tammy) LeMasters of Greensburg; his sister, Lillian Beatty of Albany, Kentucky; his brothers, Earl LeMasters of Greensburg and Willis Warren of Westport and his seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Louis LeMasters and his brother, Bill LeMasters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home and burial will follow at the Union Baptist Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, American Diabetes Association or to the family to help with funeral expenses.
