Roy Douglas Allen, 54, of Bowling Green, formerly of Trigg County, died Sunday, Sept. 24 at 12:05am at City-County Hospital in Bowling Green following a brief illness.
A Trigg County native, he was born July 15, 1924, the son of J A (Tine) and Emma Ford Allen. He was married to Anne Ella Sholar Dec. 18, 1947, who survives.
He was a real estate dealer, a member of Linton Masonic Lodge, a veteran on World War II and a member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Bowling Green.
Survivors in addition to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J A (Tine) Allen of Cadiz include his widow, Mrs. Anne Ella Sholar Allen; two sons, James Douglas Allen of Bowling Green and Joe Allen of the home; one sister, Mrs. James M (Carman) Nunn of Borden, Ind.; and a granddaughter, Jamie Layne Allen.
Pallbearers were Dale Shields, Tommy Allen, Mike Allen, Norman Hudson, Burwick Downs, Jerry Ford.
