Although the name recorded in Woodland Cemetery's records is her given name of Mary Elizabeth, the name inscribed on her headstone is Elizabeth M. because she went by the name Elizabeth. She was my grandmother.

She married John [Joseph] Kress (b. 1850) April 9, 1877 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. In August 1878 they had a son, Edward Matthew Kress (my father). I don't know what happened to that marriage, but she subsequently married Martin F. Polcar on March 27, 1883, in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, using her maiden name, Doubrava, on the marriage license. If anyone knows why she used her maiden name instead of Kress on this document, or what happened to my grandfather, please contact me.

She had two sons with Martin F. Polcar: Martin and Oliver (Allen) Polcar, and a daughter, Grace Polcar Ptak. Grace Polcar Ptak was the grandmother of Lawrence Ptak, who is also buried in this plot.
