Mr. Guidry, a native of St. Landry parish, had been a resident of Lafayette for the past six years. He was the son of the late Arthur Guidry and Marcillia Arceneaux, both natives of St. Landry parish. Mr. Guidry was a retired farmer and was a Veteran of World War I serving with the U. S. Army.
Survivors include his widow, Louise Guilbeau Guidry of 209 1/2 Gilman Rd.; five sons, Haywood, Leray, and Milton Guidry, all of Lafayette, Claude Guidry of Alexandria, and Ewell Guidry of Opelousas; five daughters, Mrs. Alus Hebert and Mrs. Nolan Duplantis, both of Lafayette, Mrs. Charles Boyd of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Cleveland Cahanin of Rayne, and Mrs. Eugene Guidry of Carencro; four brothers, Jean and Noah Guidry, both of Cankton, Valintin Guidry of Opelousas and Antoine Guidry of Lafayette; four sisters, Mrs. Ulysse Dugas, Mrs. Ambrose Prejean and Miss Ophelia Guidry, all of Carencro, and Mrs. Noah Leger of Scott: and 20 grandchildren.
The Martin and Castille Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
