WILLIAM ALLEN,
65, DiES IN CITY
William D. Allen, 65, of 21 Ce-
dar St., a Cortland resident for
45 years and a former foreman
of Brockway Motor Trucks for 42
years, died yesterday at home
after a lenghty illness.
Born Feb. 1, 1897 in Rockland
County, N.Y., he was the son of
Daniel and Cora Allen.
Mr. Allen was a member of the
First Presbyterian Church, serv-
ed in the U.S. Navy in World
War I, and was a member of the
World War I Barracks, 2422 and
Cortland City Post 489, American
Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Vivian Warner Allen of Cortland;
three sons, Joseph Riordan of Ho-
mer, William Jr. and John Allen,
both of Cortland; two grandchil-
dren, a sister, Mrs. Helen Cong-
don of Port Charlotte, Fla. and a
nephew, Harold Allen of Cortland.
Services will be held 2 p.m.
Thursday at the Earle W. Wright
Funeral Home with the Rev.
Ralph C. Lankler officiating. In-
terment will be in Cortland Rural
Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral
home 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.,
Wednesday.
