MAUGANSVILLE - Grace I. Newkirk, 88, formerly of 14024 Village Mill Drive, and El Passo, Ill., died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 27, 1910, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Samuel L. Sr. and Molly M. Loudenslager Hall.
She was a retired employee of Fairchild Industries; and Hagerstown Shoe and Legging.
She attended Grace United Methodist Church.
She is survived by the following:
her husband of 45 years,
Francis "Fred" M. Newkirk;
four daughters,
Betty L. Reedy and
Saundra Reeser, both of Hagerstown,
Sonia Sullivan of Waynesboro, Pa., and
Jayne Rockwell of Maugansville;
a sister,
Edna Shipley of Hagerstown;
a brother,
John W. Hull of Hagerstown;
14 grandchildren;
17 great-grandchildren;
four great-great-grandchildren;
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by
a son, Robert A. Mullenix;
a granddaughter, Jacqueline Mullenix;
a sister, Mary St. Clair; and
two brothers,
Samuel L. Hall Jr. and
Robert A. Hall.
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert S. Barton will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
