WWI veteran. Enlisted 27 June 1918 in Los Angeles, California. Reported for duty to Vancouver, Washington and assigned to S.P.D.B.A.P. (Army Signal Corps' Spruce Production Division) Engineers; established in 1849, the Vancouver Barracks was the first U.S. Army base located in the Pacific Northwest. Received an Excellent character of discharge on 11 January 1919 at the rank of Private, Serial #899141.
