Born on August 18, 1933 in Gloversville, New York, she was the daughter of Virgil King and Myrtle Smith King.
Audrey was educated at Gloversville and Fort Plain Schools.
She was a devoted mother and homemaker, as well as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She had worked at Montgomery Ward in Fort Plain and at Linda's Dress Shop in Fort Plain.
At age 11, she moved to Fort Plain.
Mrs. Lamphere worked on the Election Board in Fort Plain.
She was a member of the Canajoharie United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Lamphere was a dispatcher for Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Service. She was on the Board of Fulmont Community Center and the Fort Plain Chamber of Commerce.
On September 12, 1950, Audrey married Harvey Mosher. He preceded her in death on October 14, 1972. On February 9, 1974, she married Morris Lamphere Jr. in Fort Plain, NY. She was predeceased by Morris on February 15, 1992. She was also predeceased by a sister, Jacqueline King; and a great-grandchild, Emily Jean Faraci.
Audrey is survived by her children, Wanda Faraci of Fort Plain, NY, Judy Mosher of Canajoharie; NY, Amy Wolf and Tom of Fort Plain, NY, David Mosher and Maureen of Canajoharie, NY; three sisters, Betty Manchester and Robert of Fort Plain, NY, Sandra Przestrzelski of Fort Plain, NY, Linda Hoffman and Leonard of Johnstown, NY; and one brother, Kenneth King Sr. of Fort Plain, NY. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her stepmother, Kay King of Gloversville, NY; several stepbrothers and stepsisters of Gloversville, NY; a brother-in-law, Don Lamphere of Palatine Bridge, NY; a sister-in-law, Janet Lamphere of St. Johnsville, NY; stepsons, Greg Lamphere and Vanessa of Fort Plain, NY, Christopher Lamphere of Palatine Bridge, NY, and Timothy Lamphere and Sherry of Fort Plain, NY. She is survived by her very close friend, Ellie Sitterly of Fort Plain, NY, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317 with Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery.
