He was a retired farmer, member of the Christian Church, and a 50 year member of Sumner Lodge 249 IOOF and Chauncey Lodge 716 Rebekahs.
He was born July 16, 1885 in Crawford County to John A. and Mary E. Ward Baker. His wife, the former Mildred Messenger, preceded him in death.
He is survived by sons, Paul of Port Neches, Tex., Robert J. of Pompton Plains, N. J., and Lynn M. of Vincennes, Ind.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Emery, Port Arthur, Tx.; and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Nichels, Buchanan, Vir.
A brother and sister preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Sivert Funeral Home, Sumner, where visitation will be after 6 p.m. today. The Rev. Lowell MacDowell will officiate with burial in Waggoner Cemetery.
