Albin J. Dufner, 85, Minot, ND, went home to be with his Lord, on Thursday, January 16, 2014, in his home in Minot, surrounded by his loving family.

Albin Joseph "Al" Dufner was born October 3, 1928, the son of John and Susan (Straub) Dufner, on the family farm in Muskego Township, Renville County, rural Lansford, ND. He was raised on the farm and attended country school at Muskego #1. His mother passed away when Albin was in his early teenage years.

Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Al attended Hanson Mechanical Trade School in Fargo, where he received a diploma in Combined Welding.

Al married Evelyn L. Oss January 5, 1954, at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where they raised their family, but also maintained farming interests on Evelyn's parent's farm 11 miles south of Parshall, ND. Al started working as a mechanic at Fisher Motors in Minot. He later was promoted to Shop Manager, then Service Manager, and later became the Service Advisor, a position he held until retiring in September of 1993. Following his retirement from Fisher Motors, he continued farming with his two sons, Craig and Kevin, until retiring in 2002. Following Evelyn's death on November 2, 2008, he continued to reside in Minot.

He was a former member of St. Henry's Catholic Church in Foxholm and was a charter member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Minot American Legion.
