Toccoa, Ga., Sept. 22 -- J. J. Strange, 72, prominent retired jeweler of Toccoa, died Tuesday night at his residence on West Doyle Street after a lengthy illness. He was a Native of Banks County but had resided in Toccoa for many years. He retired about two years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jean Purcell Strange; four brothers, G. G. Strange, College Park; W. H. Strange, Cornelia; R. E. Strange, Houston, Texas; J. W. Strange, Brownsville, Ala; one sister, Mrs. W. P. Duncan, College Park.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Toccoa First Baptist Church. Officiating mimisters will be Dr. A. T. Cline, Dr. R. A. Forrest, Rev. Kelly Barnes, Rev. W. E. Brown, Rev. John Ellis. Burial will be in Toccoa Cemetery. The Board of Deacons and members of Agoga Bible Class will act as honorary escort.
