G. Albert Huey, 94, of 202 B Griffin Homes, died Tuesday April 2, 1974 in a local Hospital (Tanner Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, GA) following an extended illness. He was born in Randolph County Ala, May 26, 1879 the son of the late Joseph Huey and Mary Ann Huey. He was a retired farmer and had lived in Carroll county most of his life. Mr. Huey was a member of the East Side Baptist Church.
On December 11, 1897 he was married to Miss Martha Lou Evans, who died March 11, 1952. Two children preceded him in death; an infant son, Aubrey John Huey and a daughter, Mrs. Erma Venable who died in September 1935.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Olin Raburn and Mrs. Lizzie Whitehead of Carrollton; Mrs Ernest Moore of Tallapoosa, Mrs Jesse R. Robinson of Bowdon, route 1; and Mrs Alford Hester of Bowdon; three sons, Raymond H. Huey and Dorsey Huey of Carrollton, route 4 and Buford M Huey of Columbus; 43 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; and 36 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 3, 1974 at 4 p.m. from Martin & Hightower Chapel with Rev. Lawrence Akin officiating, assisted by Rev. Spurgeon Powers and Rev. Glenn Boatner. Music was under the direction of Newt and Louise Holmes. Pallbearers were: George Raburn, Barry Robinson, Harold Venable, Ray Moore, Robert Huey, Roy Huey, Tom Causey and Larry Blair. Internment was in Pleasant View Cemetery.
