They were the parents of two children Elizabeth born in 1855 and Edward E born in 1859. Jacob died on December 24, 1902 while living with his son Edward in Palo Alto, Schuylkill County, He is buried along with is wife Elizabeth who died in 1899 in the Saint Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Port Carbon, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
