Jacob J Reedy born 1831 in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania married Elizabeth Balliet in Pottsville on December 24, 1854. He was employed as a stationary Engineer. They were the parents of two children Elizabeth born in 1855 and Edward E born in 1859. Jacob died on December 24, 1902 while living with his son Edward in Palo Alto, Schuylkill County, He is buried along with is wife Elizabeth who died in 1899 in the Saint Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Port Carbon, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.


Civil War
On October 28, 1862 he joined the 173rd Pennsylvania Infantry (Drafted Militia) Regiment Company H and discharged as a 3rd corporal on August 17, 1863.
