Leila Fotheringham Succumbs to An Attack of Pneumonia
The angel of death visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Fotheringham Wednesday afternoon and bore away the spirit of their beloved daughter, Leila. For two weeks everything possible had been done to overcome the dread malady, pneumonia, with which she was suffering, but medical skill, careful nursing, and the loving care of anxious parents alike proved unavailing.
Leila was the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Fotheringham, and was born in Vacaville fourteen years ago. She was quiet and studious by nature and possessed many lovable traits of character which endeared her to a wide circle of friends, both old and young.
She was a member of the eighth grade in the public school, and her desk in Professor Collins' room was heaped with flowers yesterday - a tribute from her sorrowing schoolmates.
The funeral will be held this morning at 9 o'clock from the family residence on Main street.
