Lyman C. Edwards, age 79, of Campbell, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 at home.

Born in Montour Falls, he was the son of the late Mervin and Evelyn (Edwards) Taylor.

He married Donna Jean Fleet in 1955 in Bradford. She predeceased him on August 30, 2011.

Lyman loved his grandchildren and his dogs; he retired from Corning Inc, owned and operated a tractor trailer truck, and drove school bus for Campbell-Savona School District.

He enjoyed camping, hunting, being in the woods, traveling, bowling, and dancing.

He is survived by his companion, Edith Congdon of Campbell; daughter, Beth Maglier of Corning; son and daughter-in-law; Lyman D. and Cookie Edwards of Campbell; brothers: Lewis Strawser, Walter (Marilyn) Strawser, and Philip Strawser; grandchildren: Gretchen Millard, Amber (Paul) Gesford, Mickenzie Edwards, Monica Edwards, and Dustin Edwards; great grandson, Jackson Gesford; sister-in-law, Joan (Wayne) Ferguson; cousin, Shirley Draper of Corning; and several nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by close friends: Bud and Imogene Hendley of Painted Post, and Don and Ida Burnside.

Family and friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00pm.

A celebration of Lyman's life will be held there on Saturday at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Painted Post.
