OBITUARY from Altoona Tribune January 6, 1947 page 12 - GEORGE H. ARBLE - George H. Arble, 125 East Walnut avenue, died at his home at 11:30 o’clock Friday night after a short illness. Mr. Arble was 85 years of age and was born and reared on a farm near Carrolltown. After teaching school there, he took up residence in Johnstown from where he moved to Altoona to take employment in the Altoona works of the Pennsylvania railroad some 55 years ago. His wife. Mrs. Magdalene (Eager) Arble preceded him in death in 1926. He is survived by two daughters, and two sons, Mrs. Earl Moran, Mrs. Arthur Strohmyer, W. H. and R. G. Arble, all of the city, and four grandchildren. Mr. Arble was the last member of a family of 12 children. He was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic church. Mr. Arble reposes at the Vincent L. Stevens funeral home.
