From the Bean Family Genealogy of Saco Valley Maine: Andrew C. Bean went to Buenos Ayres in 1857, where he was for many years a prominent and successful merchant, doing an extensive export business with the United States; was a man of marked business ability and unimpeachable integrity, and one of the most popular and influential of the foreign residents of Buenos Ayres. He had just been appointed Argentine Consul at Boston, when, June 6, 1886, he died suddenly at Brownfield.
