Betty A. Rathgeber, 74, of Taylorville, IL, died at 12:20 pm Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital, Taylorville, IL. She was born April 12, 1933 in Taylorville, IL, the daughter of Hardin and Beulah Neville Herald. She married Don C. Rathgeber in Sharpsburg on November 6, 1953 and he preceded her in death on July 15, 1999. Mrs. Rathgeber was a member of the United Methodist Church in Morrisonville, American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors Camp 506 and a former state officer for the National Farm Wives Association.

Surviving are her 3 Sons: Gregory C. Rathgeber and wife Jean of Springfield, Wayde L. Rathgeber and wife Nancy of Auburn and Kirk A. Rathgeber of Taylorville, Daughter: Melisa A. Hospelhorn and husband Mark of Bloomington, Sister: Elaine Tolliver of Vero Beach, FL. 6 Grandchildren: Jesse C. Rathgeber, Damon C. Rathgeber, Aaron T. Rathgeber, Hannah L. Germann, Hope M. Germann and Halle C. Long. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, January 26, 2008 at McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, with Charles Frost officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Sharpsburg.
