Mr. Volk died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital following a lingering illness.
Mr. Volk was son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Volk, born Dec. 12, 1890 in Odessa, Russia. He received his education in Odessa.
On Jan. 10, 1912 he married the former Anna Ripplinger in Odessa. Shortly after their marriage the came to the U.S. and lived in the Anamoose-Silva communities. In 1924 they moved to a farm near Webster and in 1950 they purchased a farm in Sweetwater, living there until 1960, when they retired and moved to Devils Lake. In 1966 they moved to Minnewaukan to make their home. Mrs. Volk died Nov. 11, 1966.
He is survived by six daughters: Mrs. Carl (Lena) Wolter of Lidgerwood, Mrs. Marie Hatchett and Mrs. Dorothy Zins, both of Minneapolis, Mrs. Victor (Regarda) Westford and Mrs. Leonard (Frances) Cleaver both of Seattle, and Mrs. Elmer (Anna) Willhelm of Lynwood, Wash.; three sons, Conrad of Sandstone, Minn., Stanley of Minnewaukan and Walter of Devils Lake; 22 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his wife, six brothers and sisters and a son.
Burke Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
