Alvera R. A. Volentine, 83, of Hamel Township, Edwardsville, died at 1:54 a.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2000, at Heritage Manor Nursing home in Staunton.

She was born on October 9, 1917, in Alhambra, IL, a daughter of Henry and Mabel Kisskadden Hamman. She married David Volentine on February 15, 1936, in Greenville and he preceded her in death on November 17, 1987.

Services were conducted Saturday, December 16, 2000 at the Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel. Interment was in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her stepmother, Anna Hamann, two sisters, Henrietta Buske and Irene Kantner and a brother, Lewis Hamann.
