Anna W. Howard
Anna Piltz was born 15 Oct 1894 in Rosita, Custer County, Colorado to Moritz O Piltz (1842-?) and Augusta Piltz (1866-?). She married Charles C. Howard (1882-1971) in 1946. They were probably both Bahá'ís at the time.
In 1947 Anna was living in Independence, Missouri and assisted Olivia Kelsey of Kansas City to get a study class organized. In 1950, Anna was the chairman of the Spiritual Assembly of Independence, Missouri and was MC for a panel discussion on "World Fellowship" for World Religion Day.
On 19 October 1952, Anna gave a lecture on "Bahá'í World Faith" in Wichita, Kansas. The local community arranged to have an article about the presentation in the Wichita Eagle on 16 October and an ad in the Wichita Beacon on 18 October. The four Bahá'ís living in Wichita at the time were Ronald Preuss, Waldo T. Boyd, Bertha Faulconer and Howard Roszell. The article also mentions that Donald Newby previously of Wichita was in New York preparing to pioneer to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
On 24 September 1954, Charles and Anna Howard arrived in Mexico as pioneers to help with consolidation there. In 1961, Anna Howard was elected to the First National Spiritual Assembly of Mexico along with Mrs. Florence Mayberry and others.
Charles and Anna had to return to the United States after 14 years of service in Mexico in 1968 due to his failing eyesight. Charles died in Canon City, Colorado on 31 December 1971. Anna died in Canon City, Colorado on 30 April, 1984. They are buried in the Rosita Cemetery, Rosita, Custer County, Colorado.
