He was born June 16, 1936, in Holts Summit, MO, a son of Harry O. and Susie Olive Branch Steinmetz.
He worked in construction for most of his life. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include: seven sons, John Steinmetz, state of Oklahoma, and Travis Steinmetz, Eric Steinmetz, Greg Steinmetz, Keith Steinmetz, Kevin Steinmetz, and James Steinmetz, all of Jefferson City; one daughter, Debbie Steinmetz, Linn; three brothers, Larry Steinmetz, Holts Summit, and Stanley Steinmetz, and Roger Steinmetz, both of Jefferson City; two sisters, Minnie Smith, Williamsburg, and Wanda Craighead, Mexico; four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Bull Cemetery. The Rev. Ray Freet will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit.
