Charles "Bill" Byam, of Kooskia, Idaho, died Feb. 28 in St. Mary's Hospital in Cottonwood, Idaho.
He was born in Waha, Idaho, Sept. 8, 1916, to Ray and Lily (Herman) Byam.
Bill was a self-made man, working as a road construction mechanic throughout the Inland Northwest.
He was preceded in death by his son, Norman "Pete," in 1977; wife, Jeannie, who died Sept. 17, 2004, after 65 years of marriage.
