***Notes To John***

John (AKA JBD) Man this will be something I don't think will ever sink
in. You aren't here in person anymore. You will only be in everyone's
memories now. There was so much we were planning to do... OWN tombstone
being the most prevalent. The calls, the texts, the voices. We were the
single ones now I am just the SINGLE one... There will never be another
JBD, of course I think you out shined the other one. We will honor you
at this (I hope not final) JBD days in August. I know you will be there
as will I. As I sit here and type this out the memories come flooding to
me. My heart breaks for your family... my heart breaks for your
friends... and of course...my heart breaks...I won't be able to attend
in person..but I will be there in spirit...just as your spirit will live
on through your son's ....I truly have lost another brother and I fear
the last. Rest Easy Brother... until we can ride again...

John, it's not easy for me to say goodbye. I'll miss you. You were like
a brother that I could talk to. I enjoyed our rants about our rotten
government. We had to vent our frustrations. It was always nice to get a
phone call or text message and visit with you in Tombstone. Talked to
Traywick and broke the news to him. He said he was glad you bought his
books, and one book you even paid for twice :-), but you were always a
gentleman and let it go because you appreciated him. One day you'll see
Ben again and you'll have fun telling stories. Don't forget to speak
loudly because Ben is hard of hearing :-)
The trip was fun in New Mexico, especially the part where your snoring
kept me awake!! I wish I could have been with you and Murdock in Dallas,
checking out all the neat history. I enjoyed the chat we had before your
plane left Dallas. There's a void now in my life but I will just have to
carry on and deal with Andy. Rest easy brother, you'll be missed.

P.S. Thanks for the protein drink recipe.

John was a jokester! He was always telling us stories. He loved
Tombstone and all the people. Gonna miss you Johnny Behind. Ron is still
waiting for that phone to ring and hear your voice on the other end! R.I.P.

I only met John Sunday when he came to Tyler to visit with Ms. Justice
and pay respects to Justice. I'm sure he and Justice are having a great
conversation now, quoting scenes in Tombstone. To his sons, he spoke of
you with such love. He was a proud father and grandfather. Be sure the
baby knows how special her grandfather was! RIP JOHNNY BEHIND and ride
the skies with JUSTICE.

Betty Hubbard

John, Thank you for being such a close friend of Justice. Johnny Behind
and Justice were a pair. Ever laughing and enjoying each other's
company. You two made everyone laugh. It won't be the same without you,
you both truly enjoyed life to its fullest. When we had lunch and
visited Justice at the cemetery, we had a lot of laughs and recalled a
lot of wonderful memories. Thank you for that, it meant the world to me.
You spoke of your sons and your granddaughter with such love, I know you
will ever be in their hearts with such tenderness. They will miss you
more than you can imagine but they too will recall the beautiful
memories left behind. Good Bye my good friend and know we will never
forget you. You and Justice stay out of trouble and enjoy the
peacefulness and beauty of the other side. God be with you and your
family. Your friend, Ms. Justice

Dianne Little

Johnny, thank you for always cracking me up with your witty humor and I
will miss our drunken phone calls dearly! I was always impressed that I
knew a guy who was an actual 'heel' in pro wrestling and to your
kids...your Daddy was proud of you all! Rest in peace, sir!

Animal

Rest in Peace Johnny behind the Deuce. For those of you who are lovers
of Tombstone, (as John surely was), and friends of Haunted saloon, and
other Tombstone western groups etc, in case you haven't heard, we have
lost another friend. He and Justice must be having one heck of a time
seeing each other again.

I think people could go on and on about him. We all have our memories.
Now that he's gone we must cherish them. But the most amazing talent he
had was the ability to make us laugh. I fondly remember at the Apache
Spirit Ranch when MurDock and Johnny came to the little bonfire we had.
It was like the life of the party had just arrived. We were cracking up
the entire time! John had something funny to say always. When he was
around we were forever happy and laughing.

Vickey L Johnson

Rest in peace John. I am in complete shock of your passing. Just last
Friday you were in the motel office talking my ear off like always! I'm
gonna miss you and our hour long talks my friend! Till we meet again....
I will wear my JBD t-shirt with pride! — with John Waple.

Candice King

The first time I met John, he was "john from Ohio", calling in to talk
with us on our Haunted Saloon Internet Show. Next thing you know, I get
to meet him in person when he attended "Clanton Days" in Tombstone,Az.
It is always a treat to meet our fans, but some of them are so gosh dang
special, and good folks, and John was one of those. He was funny as
heck, intelligent, full of piss and vinegar, good looking, kind hearted,
knew every line of every movie ever written, and came with stories
enough to entertain you all night long. I always looked forward to bar
hoppin the 'stone with him...it truly has been my pleasure to know John,
he will be missed.
Miss Vickie

Please give his family my condolences and please let them know that John
was a very good friend and had an awesome sense of humor. He loved and
respected Tombstone and its history and, in turn, Tombstone accepted him
as one of its own. He will be sincerely missed here but "Johnny Behind
the Deuces" will always be a part of this little town as one of its many
characters and I will be thinking about him often. Please tell his
family he was and always will be "class".

Melissa Lynn McFadden

I do remember him as being jovial and good company. I share in the
sadness of a greatly loved member of the group passing on. Prayers for
those who loved him and his family.

David Albert Desrosiers

There are some guys you just like the minute you meet them. John was one
of them. He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him. The great
memories of our times together in Tombstone will live on.

Bill Marquardt

I remember so clearly his smile and how he could make people laugh. He
will be greatly missed.
Denise Duguay

My husband ,Kip, is one of the Misfits. He talked to you dad daily and
there was always a lot of laughter with those calls. We spent time with
him every time he came to Tombstone. He was so much fun to be around but
also a kind and gentle man. If there was a problem he was the first to
offer help. Our memories will be so important and he will always be part
of our conversations. May you find peace and comfort knowing how many
lives he has touched. Prayers to you and your family.

Dawn Coryea

I don't know what to say except the Stone won't be the same without you
and I'll miss your frustrated phone calls. I'll always remember our last
conversation / never forget your first impression!
