Mr. James (Jim) Edwards, age 52, of Gilmer, died Friday, September, 2, 2005 at a Temple hospital.
Memorial services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Gatesville.
Jim was born on October 19, 1952 in Ballinger, Texas. (Parents: L.Z. Edwards and Eva Frances Jones Edwards) He graduated from Tomball High School in 1971. He attended Sam Houston and Stephen F. Austin Universities. He worked for Exxon Pipeline for 27 years and later for Trinity Industries in Longview. He married Sherry Wyche in 1980. He later married MariBeth Whitaker in Nov. of 2003. She preceded him in death on March 25, 2005. He was a member of the Fellowship Bible Church in Longview.
Survivors include sons, Jordon Edwards and James Edwards of LaPorte, Texas; parents, L.Z. and Eva Edwards of Gatesville; sisters, Sue McLelland and husband, Gerald of Dallas and Janda Edwards of Dallas; brother, Greg Edwards and wife, Kelly of Liberty; nephews, Matt McLelland and wife, Chanita and Michael and Mark McLelland; and nieces, Allison, Emily and Erin Edwards.
