James Lawrence Johnson

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, in Adams Chapel in River View Cemetery for James Lawrence ``Jim'' Johnson, who died of cancer and diabetes Aug. 3 at age 68.

Mr. Johnson was born June 2, 1930, in Portland. He graduated from Washington High School and Oregon State College. He was an engineer for Tektronix for 20 years, including on its manufacturing, design and marketing staffs, retiring in 1983. In 1982, he married Susana Warren.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Shelley Curtis of Portland and Mary Jean Bertman of Port Angeles, Wash.; stepson, Edward Warren of Lompoc, Calif.; stepdaughter, Jaimie Warren of Athens, Ga.; sister, Mary Lou Harvey of Tigard; and nine grandchildren.

Private interment will be in River View Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to the American Cancer Society or to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are by Riverview Abbey Funeral Home.
