Mrs. Caroline Phillips Dead
Rites Set Saturday For Long Time Resident Of Kaysville

"Mrs. Caroline Stewart Phillips, one of the oldest residents of Kaysville died at her home at 5 p.m. Wednesday following several weeks illness, due to the infirmities of old age.

Mrs. Phillips was the daughter of William and Mary Ann Marriott Stewart, early pioneers of Utah, and was born in Kaysville, March 13, 1856, and had always made her home in Kaysville. She was married to Heber J. (James) Phillips in the old Endowment house in Salt Lake, December 29, 1873. Mr. Phillips died in 1908.

She was the mother of seven children and is survived by the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Robert C. Jamison of Burley, Idaho; Mrs. J. T. Durant of Ogden; Irvin Phillips of Palo Alto, Calif, Miss Leah Phillips and Charley Phillips, both of Kaysville. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren, and by the following half brothers and sisters: Walter W. Stewart, Miss Sophie Stewart, William H. Stewart, Alma M. Stewart, Elizabeth Stewart, Moroni D. Stewart and Clarence B. Stewart, all of Kaysville.

Funeral services will be held in the Kaysville Ward Tabernacle Saturday afternoon at one o'clock. The services will be under the direction of Bishop Hubert C. Burton. Interment will follow in the Kaysville Cemetery."
