GARY JAMES HEILAMAN, 59, of Duncan, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, in Duncan Regional Hospital.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Keith Batchler officiating, assisted by Brother Eddie Jackson. Interment will be at 2 p.m. in Cache Creek Mission Cemetery in Apache.
Gary James was born June 5, 1946, in Lawton, to Charlie Ray and Irene Mary Gilman Heilaman. He married Philonda Nadine Smith on Nov. 20, 1964, in Lawton.
He was a veteran and Purple Heart recipient of the Vietnam conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. Gary worked as a machinist for Halliburton Services, retiring after 35 years of service.
He enjoyed collecting knives and hunting and fishing, especially with his son. He was a member of Grace Chapel Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Philonda of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Paul and Nancy Rebecca Heilaman of Duncan; a sister and brother-in-law, May Frances and Jed Denton, and a brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Sandy Heilaman, all of Apache; a grandson, Tyler Scott Heilaman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Dorothy Mary Myers, Clela Margaret Sanmann and Virginia Lee Hamilton.
Bearers will be Christopher Heilaman, Carl Lindsey, Christopher Hamilton, Johnny Hamilton, Bill Gene Hamilton and Joseph Lindsey.
Honorary bearers are his brothers and sisters of Grace Chapel Pentecostal Church.
