Joanna Bradburry

Joanna Clark Bradburry of Eureka, died on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Eureka Nursing Center, in Eureka at the age of 89.

She was born on February 22, 1924, in Hamilton, Kansas the daughter of William P. and Mary E. (Matlock) Clark. She was raised in Virgil and attended local schools. After her schooling, she worked as a waitress and cook at local restaurants for most of her life. In the early 1940's she moved to Montana, and in 1954 moved to Oklahoma City. On May 14, 1958, Joanna was united in marriage to James Lish Bradburry, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. In 1960, they moved to Virgil, and to Eureka in 1965. James preceded her in death on November 22, 1996.

She is survived by two children: son, Glen Gibson of Eureka; and daughter, Patricia Hellman of Olpe; four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, James L. Clark of Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 17, 2014 at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Eureka Public Library. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
