Ada Cordelia Bewick, 93, of Bemidji, died on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji. A funeral was at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bemidji. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

She was born on Feb. 13, 1914, to Peder and Mabel (Lysen) Gulsvig, in Langhei Township, Pope County, Minn. She attended elementary school and graduated from high school in Nevis. After graduation, she had two years of teachers training in Park Rapids. She married LeRoy A. Bewick on April 7, 1934, in Park Rapids. After their marriage, they moved to Menagha, then Wadena, and in 1943 the family moved to the Naval Air Station, Alameda, Calif. In 1947, her husband went to work at Bemidji State College. Over the years, through a series of work-related moves, they lived in Winona, Minn., Hastings, Minn., and Laporte. In 1985, she moved to Bemidji and lived here until the time of her death.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church as well as their ladies aid and circle. She also worked with Hospice and Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed time with friends, lunches, pancake breakfasts and traveling.

She is survived by her son, LeRoy G. (Rossana) Bewick of Perugia, Italy; daughter, Lenore (Jerry) Nord of Laporte; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Herbert (Meg) Gulsvig of Wadena and Wyman (Gerri) Gulsvig of Edina, Minn.; sisters, Wilma Stewart of Australia and Mabel (Joe) Engstrom of Mountain Iron, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Archie and Guy; and many nieces and nephews.
