RUSTON, LA - Peggy Hancock Adkins' life will be celebrated on Monday, September 14, 2009 with visitation beginning at 5:00 PM with a service to follow at 6:30 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston, LA. Dr. Andrew Johnson and Dr. Chris Craig will officiate and Wayne Bridges will provide special music.

Peggy was born in Monroe, LA on September 1, 1927 and moved to heaven on September 12, 2009. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Reverend Jerry Adkins; a daughter, Cindy Murphy and husband George; three grandchildren, Andrew, Laura, and Melissa Murphy all of Ruston, LA; sisters, Frances Edwards of Ruston, LA and Mary Lou Ledger of Calhoun, LA; and many other family members and special friends.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Bradley, Buddy Rogers, Jack Dalby, Ervin Ryland, James Smith, and Lou Barber.

Special gratitude is expressed to Dr. and Mrs. Andrew Johnson and the Happy Sojourners Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, Ruston, and to the Arbor House/Terrace staff for their care of our precious one. Gratitude is also expressed to all the churches where Rev. Adkins served for their support and encouragement.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
