With a pioneer spirit like her grandparents and parents, Edith left her small town home in the Ozarks to embark in a life in the desert country of Las Cruses N.M. They traveled by train across the rugged county to settle at State College N.M. There she raised her family, returning to West Plains a few times to visit family.
