"Mrs. Hazel Bellew, 77, of 515 E. 31st, North Kansas City, died Thursday at the Medical Center of Independence. She was born in Franklin County, Kan., and had lived in this area 58 years. Mrs. Ballew was a custodian at the Oak Park Christian Church before she retired and was a member of the church. She leaves a niece, Mrs. Maxine Casebolt of Oak Grove in Jackson County; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Newcomer North Kansas City Chapel; burial in White Chapel Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, October 4, 1980
