Jack Barrett, age 87, of Wellston, Ohio, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014, at the Jenkins Care Community of Wellston. He was born November 27, 1926 in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Jack and Byrdie Kelly Barrett.

He was also preceded in death by
his wife, Dortha Shrewsbury Legler Barrett;
brother, Gene Barrett;
grandson, Barry Neal Davis.

He is survived by
a daughter, Valerie Legler Davis (Johnnie);
four grandchildren, Amy (Randy) Williams, Chris (Missy) Davis, Barry's wife Shawna Davis, Danielle (Jason Parker) Davis and Erik (Katrina) Davis;
granddaughter-in-law, Becky Davis;
11 great grandchildren, Kendra and Kaitlyn Williams, Bryanna and Kaylee Davis, John T. and Bret Davis, Madelyn Parker, Treylan and Kenzie Davis, Devon Malone and Lauren Lucas.

He loved hunting, fishing, wood working, knife making and his family. He was a former printer with the Portsmouth Times, manager of Seton Square of Wellston when it first opened and was a member of the Jackson Sheriff auxiliary in the early 1980's. He was also a past Master of the Lucasville Masonic Lodge.

Funeral service at Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Wendell Vermillion officiating. Burial in the Memorial Burial Park.
