The youngest of two sons born to Harold L and Linda E (Roloff) Cooper.

The Cooper family lived in Boston until the summer of 1934. They moved to West Allis, Wisconsin in July 1934.

Robert graduated from high school in West Allis in June 1938.

The family (except for his brother Fen) was living in Merrill, Wisconsin according to the 1940 US Census. Robert was attending college 1938-1942. He served in the US military during World War II (1942-1946).

Robert married Helen C. Czajkowski (b. May 1916), daughter of Vincent and Stella Czajkowski, about 1951. They lived in Milwaukee. It is unknown if they had any children.

Robert Cooper died at age 65. Survived by his wife Helen. His older brother predeceased him. Also survived by his three nephews, Peter, Richard and David Cooper.
