James "Jim" Paul Williams, 77, of Sharpsville, passed away at 5:13 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014. He was born in Kokomo on March 26, 1936 to the late Arthur and Dorotha G. (James) Williams. Jim graduated from Kokomo High School in 1954 then continued his education at Earlham College.

Early in life, he served our country with the United States Army. Jim began working at Chrysler in 1963, and was employed there for 39 years before retiring in 2001 as a supervisor. He attended and was an active member at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church. Jim was an avid sports fan; watching IU, auto racing and coaching little league. He was his grandchildren's biggest fan, supporting all of their activities.

Jim is survived by his fiancé, Judy Partlow; his children, Brian K. (Lynelle) Williams, James A. (Ruth) Williams, S. Andrew (Tiffany) Severson and Lori M. (Mark) Meeks; his step children, Christopher Partlow, Timothy Partlow, Lisa Overman and Cynthia Partlow; his grandchildren, Madeline Williams, Mariah Williams, Brandon (Brittany) Williams, Craig Williams, Bethany (Chad) Wheeler, Cassi Dodson, Mikayla Dodson, Taylor Meeks and Jessie Meeks; step grandchildren, Justin Partlow, Scarlet Partlow and Jeffery Sink; great grandchildren, Victoria Williams, soon to arrive Campbell Williams and Hannah Wheeler. Other survivors include siblings, Arthur Earl (Ellen) Williams, Wyona Mae Akers and Betty J. (Don) Frederickson; and others that became part of the family through Jim's abundant love, Harper Partlow, Sienna Partlow, Oliver Sink, Walter Sink, Blake (Jessie) Severson and Ian Severson.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, twin brother David Lawrence Williams, Billy Joe Williams and Genevieve Arlene Warnock.

There will be a memorial service for Jim at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor James Ball officiating. During the memorial service, Jim's service to our country will be recognized with military rites by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Teams. Following the memorial service, Jim will be cremated according to his wishes. All of Jim's family and friends are welcome to join together for a time of visitation that same day, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the services, also at the mortuary.
