NATCHEZ- Funeral service for Laura Ann Bumgardner Carter, 65, of Natchez, who died January 9, 2014 at Cullman Regional Medical Center in Cullman AL, will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday January 13, 2014 at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bo Swilley officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday until service time at Laird Funeral Home.
Ms. Carter was born December 12, 1948 in Natchez to Morris Mills Bumgardner and Annie Laura Ivy Bumgardner. She was an active and loving mother and grandmother.
Ms. Carter was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Morris Mills "Cowboy" Bumgardner, Jr.
Survivors include, her husband John Hawkins; two sons, Kevin Thomas, Sr. Stephen Carter, two daughters, Tammy Thomas, Danielle Carter Williams, one grandson, Kevin Thomas, Jr. one granddaughter Kacy Thomas, one sister Gail Hughes and one brother, Lellon Bumgardner.
Pallbearers will be: Carruth Higgins, Adam Scott, Anthony Scott, Jason Exelby, Kevin Thomas, Jr. and Alex Hughes.
