Born March 25, 1938 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late Johnny Henry Love and Stella Helms Love. He attended Stanfield School and was retired from Charlotte Pipe and Foundry with 36 years of service. He was raised in Love's Chapel United Methodist Church and loved his family ties to the church. Most recently he attended First Baptist Church in Concord, NC.
Archie was a highly respected cattle farmer and spent many hours caring for his cows and other animals taking such pride in his green pastures and manicured farm. Mr. Love was a very selfless person in the Garden City Beach community helping others. He leaves such a giving legacy to his family. His children and grandchildren knew he would never turn anyone down who needed a helping hand, and his house was always known as ‘the yes house.' In addition to loving his family and communities in whom he supported, he loved his country. Archie was a United States veteran serving in the US Air Force. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was married to Judy Burris Love of the home. Survivors include four sons: Scott Love and wife Mendy of Mint Hill; Ritchie Love and wife Michelle of Mint Hill; Todd Love and wife Lisa of Oakboro; and James Love and wife Ashley of Kannapolis; Three daughters: Leita Eudy and husband Jeff of Albemarle; Felicia Buff and husband Terry of Oakboro; and Greta Baucom and husband James of Locust. He had twelve grandchildren: Colby Love; Jordan, Jackson and Jenna Love; Cameron and Carson Plyler; Logan and Leighton Dry; Alexandra and Maria Buff; and Justin and Maverick Baucom; one great-grandson: Brayden Plyler. He had one sister, Janie Hackenbury of New London. Preceding him in death were his brothers: Buford, Hubert, and Melvin Love and a sister Betty Barbee.
